1. Join a Support Group. No one knows what you are experiencing except others experiencing the same thing.unnamed
  2. Know about Alzheimer’s disease. Read books, go online, reach out to Alzheimer’s Groups.
  3. Be patient and kind. Remember, it’s the disease, not them.
  4. Find an understanding and empathetic support system with friends or others (see #1)
  5. Do Cognitive stimulation activities with your loved one. Listen to their favorite music,do word puzzles.
  6. Take care of yourself. Go to the doctor.  Get some respite from a homecare professionals.
  7. Take care of financial, legal and planning issues. These tend to get put on the back burner and it is sometimes your options deplete as more time goes by.  Find a trusted friend to help.
  8. Reach out to professionals. It will make your life easier.
