Anne Markowitz Recht, LMSW, CMC – CEO

Anne Markowitz Recht, LMSW, CMC is the founder and CEO of AMR Care Group. She has been a Care Manager since 2000. Anne is a former director of the Family and Children’s Guardianship Program and has held various administrative positions at other nonprofit organizations. Her degrees include a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Albany and a Master of Social Work from Adelphi University. Anne is a Certified Care Manager by the National Academy of Certified Care Managers. She also completed Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program in 2016.

Anne has presented about various topics relating to aging issues for The New York State Bar Association, Women in Law Committee; The National Business Institute; Nassau Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers,The Aging Life Care Association as well as other professional groups. She has also presented for Guardian and Court Examiner training for the NY State Office of Guardianship. With a marketing background, Anne speaks on Social Media and business growth to her colleagues at ALCA (Aging Life Care Association) National and Regional meetings.

Anne is the recipient of the Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation’s Outstanding Service Award for 2004, She is the is the President of the New York ALCA Chapter and is Vice Chair for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Long Island ChapterBoard of Trustees;

After a successful banking career, Francine Sullivan returned to her first love of Social Work by helping AMR Care Group’s clients. Francine has worked at the Long Island Crisis Center for over 8 years.

Francine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Molloy College and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University. She has also earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Hofstra University.

Julia joined AMR Group with over 34 years’ experience in case management for seniors and disabled individuals. Her extensive experience includes medical social work, care management in home care programs and training and management experience. Julia received her Bachelor’s in Sociology, a Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University and a Post Master’s in Gerontology from Yeshiva University.

It is a true privilege to work with seniors, people with disabilities and their families. Learning about their varied background and achievements is enlightening. It’s rewarding to work with clients to maintain their dignity and independence. This is something AMR Care Group strives to do every day for every client.

Previously, Jill was AMR Care Group’s Administrative Assistant for three years. Sherry Grobstein joined AMR Care Group as the Director of Care Management with 20 years’ social work experience in the medical field. Sherry has extensive knowledge working with transitioning people from hospital and rehabilitation to home both safely and effectively. Her main goal to keep people at home with the best quality of life and to have all their needs provided for once they are home.

Sherry received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Molloy College and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University. She has participated in multiple seminars on subjects such as dementia, caring for the elderly and advance directives.

“Throughout my career, I have been honored and humbled by working with clients and their families during some of the most difficult of times. I enjoy hearing each person’s unique life story and the meaning that they assign to events in their lives. I have benefited as much from the people I engage with as they have from my interventions.”

When Sherry is not working she loves spending time with family and friends enjoying each other’s company and experimenting many different foods. Sherry also adores learning to cook, interior decorating, and spending time with her sweet and beautiful Cockapoo Lucy.

“Sue-Ann started at AMR Care Group in 2016 as a companion. Sue was promoted to HR Coordinator and is still a caring and compassionate companion to our clients as well. Sue interviews and hires our companions. She ensures we are hiring quality staff for our clients through thorough screenings, in-depth interviews and updated documents. Her responsibilities also include connecting with clients and companions including Alzheimer’s and emergency training. Her attention to detail and organization has been a great asset to the onboarding and scheduling process
